Is there an age limit for participating in the guided outdoor activities?Yes, for safety reasons, we have age guidelines. For moderate hikes and challenge events, participants aged 12+ are welcome with an accompanying adult. For more strenuous activities we require a minimum age of 16, with guardian consent prior. Is prior walking experience required for the activities /hikes?At Beyond Wild, we design our outdoor activities to cater to a wide range of experience levels. Prior walking experience is not required for most of our guided tours and hikes. Our knowledgeable guides will provide all the necessary instructions and support to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable experience, regardless of your fitness or skill level. For those new to walking or hiking, we offer beginner-friendly routes with manageable distances and terrain. However, for more challenging adventures, we recommend having some walking experience to fully enjoy the activity. Each trip description will specify the fitness level required, so you can choose the best option for your capabilities.

How are the walks graded in level of ability?There are many different variables that help us to grade each walk, such as; mileage, terrain and weather conditions of the area. Our grading scheme is indicated on each individual event description to help you decide which suits your ability and experience. 1 star equates to extremely easy and 5 star is extremely difficult. If you are unsure of what would suit you best, please shout.

What kit do I need to bring for an outdoor adventure with Beyond Wild?For your outdoor adventure with Beyond Wild, it's crucial to come prepared with the right gear to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. We will be in touch with the kit requirements well in advance of your chosen adventure, however in the meantime here’s a checklist of the essential items we recommend. 1. **Clothing:** Wear moisture-wicking layers to keep you dry and comfortable. Include a waterproof and windproof jacket, thermal base layers, and sturdy hiking boots with good ankle support. 2. **Backpack:** A durable, weather-resistant backpack with a capacity of 20-30 liters is ideal for day trips. 4. **Hydration and Nutrition:** Carry at least 2 liters of water and high-energy snacks like nuts, protein bars, and dried fruit. 5. **Safety Gear:** A small flashlight or headtorch is essential. 6. **Sun Protection:** Bring sunscreen with a high SPF, lip balm, sunglasses with UV protection, and a wide-brimmed hat or cap. 7. **Weather Adaptation:** Depending on the season and weather forecast, bring additional gear such as gloves and hats. 8. **Personal Items:** Don’t forget your mobile phone preferably in a waterproof case. Remember, the key to a successful adventure is preparation.

Can I bring my dog on activities/hikes?It depends on the activity and location. Some hikes have rough paths or protected areas where dogs aren't allowed. We advise contacting us priori to booking so we can give you the best advice and guidelines. Making sure everyone, including your dog, is safe and happy is our priority.

What happens if I find myself unable to keep up with the group during a walk or challenge?If you find yourself unable to maintain the group's pace, there is no need to worry. Our expert guides are fully prepared to ensure a positive experience for everyone. They can easily adjust the group's pace to make sure it suits all participants. If necessary, more frequent breaks can be scheduled so everyone can catch their breath and enjoy the environment. In certain instances, a co-guide will be assigned to stay with you, providing additional support. Your safety and enjoyment are our top priorities, and we are dedicated to delivering an enjoyable and inclusive experience for everyone.

What should I do if I need to turn back or I get injured?At Beyond Wild, your safety is our top priority. If you find yourself needing to turn back or if you sustain an injury during one of our guided expeditions, it is imperative to inform your guide immediately. Our guides are trained in first aid and emergency protocols to ensure your well-being. Depending on the situation, the guide will assess whether it's best to accompany you back to the start point or call for additional assistance. We always carry communication devices and emergency equipment to handle various scenarios effectively. Rest assured that our team will take every step necessary to provide you with the best care and ensure your safe return.

What happens if bad weather is forecasted for my adventure?At Beyond Wild, your safety is our priority. If bad weather is forecasted, we take several precautions. Our guides frequently monitor weather forecasts and will notify you promptly via email or phone if severe weather is expected 48 hours before the event. If weather conditions are adverse, we will offer the following: 1. **Rescheduling:** We help you find a new date. 3. **Refunds:** If we are unable to reschedule a new date then we will provide a 50% refund. We will stay updated via emails and phone messages leading up to your adventure.

Can I bring my dog?Yes, at Beyond Wild runs, we understand that pets are part of the family, and we welcome you to bring your dog on runs. However, there are a few guidelines to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. Dogs must be kept on a short lead at all times and should be well-behaved around other people and animals. Additionally, we recommend you bring water and waste bags for your pet. Some specific trails or outdoor areas may have additional restrictions, so please check with us in advance . Our goal is to provide an exceptional outdoor adventure for all our guests, including their four-legged companions!

What is provided in my entry fee?Please see individual race pages for a full list of inclusions and exclusions. Most of our race entry fees will cover you for a fully marked course, manned checkpoints, medical and logistical support as well as base level insurance and finisher medals.

When will I receive the race briefing?You'll get the race briefing one week before your race date via email. It includes race route, safety protocols, equipment requirements, and any updates. Please ensure you read through it thoroughly. Please contact us if you have questions.

Can I transfer my entry to another runner?Yes, you can transfer your entry to another runner. Please contact our us via email no later than 14 days before the event with your registration details and the new runner's information. Please note; we are unable to make any changes if the date is less than 14 days prior to the event.
